MoveGuide operates as a lead generation and quote comparison platform. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. Nothing on this website should be taken as legal advice.

2. What MoveGuide Does

MoveGuide provides a free online service that allows home sellers to submit their property details and receive conveyancing quotes from regulated solicitors and licensed conveyancers.

When you submit your details through our platform, we pass that information to a small number of conveyancing firms, typically two to three, who may then contact you directly with a quote. MoveGuide does not act on your behalf in any legal capacity, and any contract for conveyancing services will be made directly between you and the firm you choose to instruct.

Our service is entirely free to use. You will never be charged by MoveGuide. Any fees you pay will be paid directly to the conveyancing firm you instruct.

3. The Firms We Work With

MoveGuide only works with conveyancing firms that are regulated by either the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC). We take reasonable steps to verify this before onboarding any firm to our panel.

However, MoveGuide does not guarantee the quality, speed, or outcome of any conveyancing service provided by a firm on our panel. Once you have chosen to instruct a firm, your relationship is directly with that firm and governed by their own terms of engagement.

If you have a complaint about a conveyancing firm, this should be directed to the firm in the first instance, and thereafter to the Legal Ombudsman or the relevant regulatory body.

4. Accuracy of Quotes

Quotes provided through MoveGuide are based on the information you supply at the time of submission. They are indicative and may be subject to change if the details of your transaction change, for example if the property is leasehold, if a Help to Buy scheme is involved, or if complications arise during the legal process.

MoveGuide does not guarantee that the quotes displayed are the lowest available in the market or that they will remain accurate beyond the point of submission.

5. Your Responsibilities

When using MoveGuide you agree to provide accurate and complete information. Providing false or misleading details may result in quotes that do not reflect the true cost of your transaction, and MoveGuide accepts no liability for this.

You also agree not to use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.

6. Your Data

By submitting your details through MoveGuide, you consent to your information being shared with the conveyancing firms on our panel for the purpose of providing you with quotes. You may be contacted by those firms directly.

7. Limitation of Liability

MoveGuide provides this platform on an as-is basis. While we take reasonable steps to ensure the information on the site is accurate and the firms on our panel are reputable, we cannot be held liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform or from the conveyancing services provided by any firm you instruct through it.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

All content on the MoveGuide website, including text, design, and code, is owned by MoveGuide Ltd or licensed to us. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of it without our written permission.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of MoveGuide will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
